Miva Merchant 5.5 Website Design

It is very important that Miva Merchant 4 store owners start migrating to Miva Merchant 5. For those businesses already running a Miva Merchant 4 web store that want to move to a Miva 5 web store it can be a daunting task. Miva 5 is vastly improved over Miva 4 and it operates on the back end VERY differently. Migrating from a Miva Merchant 4 store to a Miva Merchant 5 store is not as easy as copying and pasting header fields from the admin area. (Miva 5 admin interface looks very similar but it is VERY different!) Those using Open UI or additional modules can further complicate this important move. We have performed a few of these moves and it is a big job. It is actually a bigger task that designing a new web store. That said, many are using this upgrade in Miva as an opportunity to redesign their web store and make it more search engine friendly (one of the VERY big things moving to Miva 5 can help you with!)
