TELECOM HOTEL, Dallas Texas
The SoftLayer datacenter is a Tier IV datacenter facility located inside the well known INFOMART telecom hotel near downtown Dallas. Specializing in datacenter and hosting facilities, INFOMART is home to multiple datacenters including MCI, Level 3, Equinix, Verio, Switch & Data, Verizon, DataSides, and more.
The building sits atop three redundant electrical grids from TXU delivering diverse power to each quadrant of the building. HVAC needs are supplied via five one hundred ton onsite water chillers to deliver N+1 cooling requirements. Home to over twelve switch sites and thirty-five different carriers, INFOMART houses technology and telecom related businesses in a complex communications ecosystem.
Offering exceptional, if not the best, global connections this data center meets the demanding needs of our growing customer base in Canada, The United States and The United Kingdom. Here in Canada where MIDITECH operations are based, our Canadian customers also benefit from being hosted in this Dallas Data Center because it offers better connections to Western Canada and Eastern Canada then being housed in a data center in Toronto.
With room for over 25,000 dedicated servers, the private N+1 datacenter facility incorporates the following infrastructure:

Public network:
Softlayer maintains a carrier class network designed and built for the lowest latency, highest reliability, and maximum scalability.
Cisco Routers & Switches: 6500, 3750, 2900 Series routers and switches with gigabit speeds available from the individual server to the Internet.
Redundant GigE Backbone: Multi-router gigabit connections to the Internap, SAVVIS, VERIO/NTT, and Abovenet core backbone exchanges located in the INFOMART in Dallas, Texas
Traffic Management & Analysis: Utilizing Peakflow from Arbor Networks coupled with Netflow data from Cisco routers and switches, network engineers continuously monitor the health, reliability, and performance of the network. Historical analysis is critical for demand and capacity planning.
Network IDS, IPS & DDOS: Industry best solutions from Tipping Point are utilized to guard against denial of service, malicious traffic, viruses, malware, phishing, spyware and other types of Internet threats via wire speed detection and remediation coupled with automatic and zero day response.
Private VLAN & Port Control: All servers reside on private VLANs for security purposes. Additional servers or firewalls added after the initial install can be placed on existing VLANs or new VLANs without service interruptions or IP changes. Port control is also available to change port speeds from 10 / 100 / 1000Mbps to further manage security and bandwidth usage.
Bandwidth Graphs & Alerts: Detailed bandwidth graphs with historical data and projected monthly usage are available for all public server ports. Custom bandwidth alerts notify of bandwidth usage, spikes, or overages.
Upstream Security:
Our upstream providers are constantly monitoring for DDoS, port scans and other initial attacks. These services are monitored 24x7, with instant notification of suspicious actions.

ALL of our services are monitored by a professional enterprise-class monitoring system.
Anti-Virus Measures: In addition to our sophisticated front-line defenses against viruses (see firewall above), we have full and advanced virus scanning (in memory and post-file scanning) operational on all devices. In order to better protect our customers we also offer complementary full email scanning on all mailboxes for all users.
Server Hardware: All servers are at least Dual core Intel® Pentium D ® 3.0 Ghz processors. All components are redundant (drive, power supply, etc.), and we have a contract agreement for a maximal response should an incident occur.
Network Service Availability: Super fast connectivity and secure reliable technology. We work hard to provide the goal of an average 99.9% network availability for our customers.
H-sphere Control Panel: All servers utilize this powerful dual platform control panel giving you ultimate control over your web host account or server(s) with our company. The H-Sphere Control Panel is a scalable, multiserver web hosting solution. It has many features to automate and improve web hosting tasks for our customers. It is designed to work on server clusters for bothe Linux and Windows server operating systems and can be scaled by adding more web, mail, database, and DNS servers without any downtime for customers. With your control panel access you can accomplish 95% of the tasks that a customer will need to alter in a host plan such as:
