How Miditech Started in 1996
Just out of college in 1994, Don Gerrity was working as Sales Manager for a local musical instrument retail store and also operated the keyboard room at the store. He became an expert in the field of computers and music. He also wrote a published book on the topic of learning MIDI.
MIDI was short for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. He started a part time business helping customers learn how to use the new MIDI technology and called the business "MIDI-TECH".
Something was being advertised at that time called the "World Wide Web" and curious he opened an account with AOL and found the MIDI forums. Within 2 months he was asked to become a leader at the MIDI forum. This grew and through the AOL tools he created a website called "Basic MIDI" - where people can learn about the musical technology of computers and music. At that time the Internet connections were 14.4 modems through dial up only. He then created a website for the music retail store he was managing at that time.
Because of the websites he created, some had started asking him if he would create websites for them. Because of his skills in explaining and teaching highly technical terms (which he called "Tech Gibberish" in his book) this translated well into the world of placing a website on the Internet which at the time most businesses did not have a clue what this was going to mean for the world. He seen the opportunity and where the Internet was going and this was the beginning of Miditech.com as it is known today. In 1996, he kept the business name "MIDITECH" but instead made it short for "Marketing Internet Design Innovations & TECHnology". As they say, the rest is history.
Miditech's website design portfolio began to grow and customers started asking for Miditech to offer web hosting and domain name registration. So, in 1998 we started up the hosting operations at Miditech.com. Since that time we have grown into a full blown web hosting and website development firm.
In 2004, we took a large leap forward for our customers and introduced our new clustered services server network. This network utilizes the popular H-Sphere Control Panel and it gives you the ultimate control over your website and hosting with MIDITECH.COM. MIDITECH also has a growing community of resellers who sell our services under their own brand.
In December of 2007 Miditech expanded to a new server cluster and added services to include dedicated hsphere clusters. Now in 2009, we are in expansion mode and there is more to come as we start rolling out new products and services to meet the needs of both small business and corporations wanting the best in web services.
Where Are We Now?
As part of our growth and commitment to customers Miditech merged with Supra Canada Ltd. in late 2008. Supra Canada Ltd. is a leading Canadian-owned Information and Communications technology Infrastructure and Services company based in Mississauga Ontario Canada. We offer IT services in the area of Product and Software Services, Infrastructure Solutions, Software Solutions, Strategic Consulting and Managed Services.
Supra Canada Ltd. and Miditech were a good fit for a merger. Supra Canada customers were requesting web services and many of Miditech customers were requesting computer hardware services. Each is operated as separate entities, as far as operations go, but together we are a powerhouse IT company offering our customers end to end IT solutions from hardware and infrastructure to web solutions and print design.
New products, services and staff are being added to Miditech in 2009 as part of our expansion. A new cage has been acquired at 151 Front Street, a world class data centre in Downtown Toronto and a new network is being created for release in the Fall of 2009. At that time we will be rolling out many new products and services allowing us to expand into new markets.

Don Gerrity founded Miditech Website Design as a sole proprietor in 1996, when the Internet was just becoming more main stream. Don's dedication and loyalty to help his customers migrate their businesses to the web has helped launch Miditech into what it has become today, one of Canada's "Powerhouse One Stop Web Shops". Offering his skills in both creative and technical know how along with a solid business marketing background has been the success of Miditech since it began. Don makes an effort to personally contact and communicate with every single customer Miditech has and all customers will speak with him many times over the course of their business relationship with our company.

Viral joined Miditech in late 2008 and is our new lead graphic designer. Viral offers our customers his expertise in the areas of graphic design, website design, HTML, CSS, corporate branding, print stationary design, logo creation and is a proficient flash animation designer. His work is exceptionally professional in creating graphics and presenting a professional business image that a customer tries to convey to us. Benz Moid, Help Desk Team Member
Benz joined Miditech in July of 2009. He comes from an extensive background in both IT and operating a help desk for large corporations. He is heading the launch of the new ticket system setup for Miditech and is in training for the new system when it becomes live on our website for customers. This is in conjunction with our new Data Centre Network in Downtown Toronto which will be launched in the Fall of 2009.
Max Bala, Help Desk Team Member
Max joined Miditech in January of 2009. Max has been an IT network specialist for many years with our head company (Supra Canada Ltd.). He is in training for the new help desk system when it becomes live on our website for customers.
